SATA (Society Art Technology Asia) is an artist-led platform exploring the intersection of art, technology, and society in Asia.
This is an artist-led platform dedicated to exploring the intersection of art, technology, and society in Asia. Through conversations, collaborative projects, talks, workshops, mentorship programs, and exhibitions, it fosters a vibrant exchange of ideas, serving as a dynamic space where knowledge, creativity, and innovation converge, encouraging the reinterpretation and activation of cultural and technological resources.
In computer engineering, SATA (Serial AT Attachment) is a cable technology that connects motherboards to storage devices like hard drives and SSDs, enabling the transfer and preservation of data. Similarly, the SATA platform embodies this concept by creating a collective space for the transfer, preservation, and activation of knowledge and experiences. Just as the SATA cable facilitates the flow of digital information, the SATA platform facilitates the flow of ideas, ensuring that knowledge remains accessible and evolving. In both technological and cultural contexts, SATA represents a multidirectional mechanism. The SATA cable enables the accumulation and retrieval of data, while the SATA platform encourages the reinterpretation of resources, transforming them into a living engine for creative discourse and knowledge exchange. By bridging these two worlds, SATA emphasises the importance of preserving, reinterpreting, and activating information—whether as digital data or cultural knowledge—ensuring that creativity and innovation remain dynamic and impactful.
